Winter Storm and Bitterly Cold Windchills through Saturday

Winter Storm Expected Friday / Saturday

Hazards: Bitter cold wind chills are expected tonight. Readings will dip down
between -20 and -30 in some areas. Meanwhile a winter storm will move into
the area Friday and will bring a mix of heavy snow, freezing snow, and some
blowing/drifting as the storm exits.

Areas Impacted: Lowest wind chill values tonight will be mainly north and west
of La Crosse. On Friday and Saturday, the heavy snow will impact all areas, but
freezing rain could bring some ice accumulations to mainly areas south of I-90.

Timing & Duration: Besides the bitter cold wind chills tonight, snow will move
into the area on Friday and exit the area Saturday morning. The heaviest snow
will fall late Friday into Friday night. There could be lingering impacts even after
the snow ends due to blowing and drifting.

Impacts: Travel will become hazardous
to dangerous starting Friday afternoon
with limited visibilities at times. A glazing
of ice could add to those hazards,
especially south of I-90.
